the flyers have made it to the conference finals after posting the worst record in the NHL last year . it wasn't easy for them but some key pickups down the stretch really helped out. this team is a little frustrating, after getting off to a great start early in the year they went into some kind of lack of identity funk. they were totally unpredictable going from long winning streaks right into long losing streaks and the acquisitions of veteran defensive leaders, former captain's on their old squads that were supposed to bring a calming influence to this team of young players didn't seem to pan out. in the end they almost missed the playoffs again. theres no question this team has alot of talent. and to be where it is now without having its arguably best player in gange is quite impresive. i still havnt jumped on the biron band wagon yet though, and in this next series against the penguins we are definitely at a disadvantage in net. that said if we keep getting key contributions from second tier players we have a good chance to get to the big dance.
lets go flyers
