Hey...found you guys doing a Google search for tint shops in central PA (I am from Carlisle, west of Harrisburg, but my dad lives in NE Philly)....looks like you do great work! Wondering how much it would cost to get my 05 TL tinted with 30% (minus windshield)? Couple questions: 1) Do you guys use Moleskin felt on the window tracks at the bottom to help prevent scratching? People on the TL forum I follow say that tint scratches on TL's because of the tight tolerances at the bottom of the window frame. 2) I noticed you cut out the 3rd brake light on the 2 TLs I saw in the gallery. Do you do this on all TL's or did the customer want it that way (I would like it to be tinted)?

we can tint over the brake light area if you want, it is no problem, but we found the cut out actually looks cleaner(because of the heavy black line between light and back window area)..also, the "mmoleskin" is a waste of money...its the interior moulding that scratches on the TL, and even if you put felt or moleskin on it, it will scratch soon enough. We actually remove the interior moulding(you wont know its missing) to stop those scratches from happening. Understand that scratches can still happen fron sand or gravel left on the top of the window sill fron arms or road dirt. We always encourage people to keep thier sill clean to prevent that from happening. If you want felt, we can put it on, but it is not nessecary.

Thanks Damon for the response, and quote. Another guy with a TL I talked to on the Acura forum has an appt with you guys on Thursday, and he is still deciding on yes/no to Moleskin as well. I think I will see what he does and how it works out, then I will be in contact. My main issue with removing the molding is any rattles that may occur (i have enough of them already to investigate...lol), and that it might affect the window tracking. You are right that I wouldn't notice it is missing since it is hidden from view pretty much though. Also, the brake light thing I would probably have to decide about when I would come in.
Thanks again, Lou.

no prob..give us a call when you are ready...just so you know, we have never had a complaint about "rattling" as that is a shelf moulding and nothing more..

See you Monday at 2! Hopefully the weather isn't crappy...some talk of snow....grrrr. Would having cold weather and snow affect the tint from curing at all?

Ok, the weather is finally looking good for my appt on Saturday! I have a light gray interior, and I was debating doing 20% instead of 30% (what is your expert opinion?) Would the price be different for 20% vs 30%? Also do I need to make a decision before I come in, or can I tell you my final decision on Saturday when I come in?

You don't have to let us know until you're here, and the film % choices don't make a difference in price, See you Saturday! Ryan
